Seed Sowing Workshop Invitation

STONECROP GARDENS
81 Stonecrop Lane ~ Cold Spring New York 10516

Please join us ….

Seed Sowing Workshop

February 26th & April 2nd  (snow dates March 5th and April 9th)

9 a.m. - 12 p.m.

$50/$40 - members

Registration is required.

Session I

  • Learn the basic principles of seed propagation.

  • Demonstration of seed sowing techniques.

  • Apply your newfound knowledge to sow a variety of annuals.

The skilled growers at Stonecrop will tend to your seed pans over the following 5 weeks, seeing them through germination and on to their early stages of growth.

Session II

  • Return to Stonecrop on April 2 when your seedlings are ready to be “pricked out.”

  • Learn the critical skill of “pricking out.”

  • “Prick out” your newly germinated propagules into larger flats for “growing on.”

Upon successful completion, you will take home 2 flats of freshly “pricked out” annuals.  The challenge will then be yours to continue “growing on” your annuals, until they can be safely transplanted into your own garden.

Space is limited to 10 participants, so please respond promptly.

Participants must be able to commit to both sessions.

Please RSVP by Wednesday, February 23rd
