Training is essential to stay current for the PVVAC members. On August 6, 2008 a drill was held to reinforce our knowledge and skills on Neck and Leg injuries in our meeting room. Here our 1st Lieutenant and Instructor Don Graesser is reviewing the correct set up for traction on a leg injury.

Putnam Valley Fire Department Drill

On July 22, 2008 the Putnam Valley Volunteer Fire Department held a drill at the PV Elementary School. Drills are held on regular basis so the Volunteer Fireman can keep their skills up to date. They used one of the temporary buildings (which will be removed shortly) to practice fire suppression, roof ventilation and patient extraction. The Putnam Valley Volunteer Ambulance Corps supported the operation.

PV Volunteer Ambulance Corps Judged Best Corps in Yorktown Heights Parade

The Putnam Valley Volunteer Ambulance Corps was judged Best Ambulance Corps at the Yorktown Heights Parade and Carnival, June 27, 2008. The Captain of Ambulance Corps is Sheryl Keating. Pictured, left right, are Youth Corps lieutenants form the color guard: Franny Sills, Hannah Zimmerman and Laina Ramsey.
