“The tax cap presents many challenges to school districts as a result of the supermajority required to pass a budget above the cap. In addition, a failed budget results in a 0% increase in the tax levy which would be disastrous," explained Dr. Villanti. He went on to say that in the discussion of the tax cap what is being lost is the realization that for the second year a in a row school district revenues from New York State have been cut through a Gap Elimination Adjustment. Staying under the tax cap for this upcoming budget year is not as problematic as the continued loss of state revenues.

“The Gap Elimination Budget causes for the second year in a row Haldane to lose at least $528,451 in NYS revenues,” remarked Villanti, “And no one is talking about that. All public schools are also losing a proportional amount as well.”

The budget process for the 2012-2013 school year has begun. The first step is to look at the roll over budget. A roll over budget calculates all of the known expenses for the 2012-2013 budget year. Approximately 80% of our annual budget is salaries and related benefits so this calculation is reasonably accurate. We estimate the other aspects of the budget and project its costs. A roll over budget is a starting point. The Board of Education may choose to reduce expenses or even possibly add more money to certain initiatives. Generally, the budget will be reduced from this point based on budget targets and possible cost saving ideas. Please feel free to email your questions to me or the Board of Education. Please click below to see the roll over budget.

Dear Families:

It is with great pleasure that I take this opportunity to introduce myself and share my excitement about my appointment as principal of the Haldane Elementary/Middle School.  The opportunity to assume such a role as the new instructional leader in your community is quite a privilege.  The high academic expectations along with the small size are what attracted me to Cold Spring.  Additionally, the chance to work with students K through 8 presented a unique opportunity to utilize my skills and experience to lead students and staff in shaping a collaborative vision for students’ academic and social-emotional success.

Prior to arriving at Haldane, I enjoyed several professional experiences that I believe made me the perfect match for Haldane.  The last 10 years of my professional experience has been in Hastings, a similarly small river town that enjoys a strong sense of community and values a school culture committed to collaboration, innovation and high expectations.  These same values were clearly apparent during my interviews at Haldane and immediately attracted me to your community.  During my tenure in Hastings, I had the distinct opportunity to work as a middle school teacher, district Instructional Technology Coordinator and most recently, Assistant Principal of Hillside Elementary School.  These experiences have provided me with the unique opportunity to work with and lead K-8 curricular initiatives.

I firmly believe that leadership is something you do with people not to people, and I look forward to working collaboratively with students, teachers and parents to continue the strong tradition of success that exists in Haldane.  To this end, I plan to meet with staff and parents to learn more about the unique culture of Haldane.  In September, with the start of the school year, I plan to begin a formal entry plan that will allow me to meet with every staff member and engage in meaningful dialogue around teaching and learning.  Of course, I expect there will be numerous opportunities to informally introduce myself, as I intend to be a visible presence during the day, engaging in conversation with students in their classrooms, the lunchroom and playground during recess.

I look forward to an exciting year filled with growth, collaboration and communication.  As we collectively begin to shape our vision of Haldane’s future, I look forward to sharing our continued success with you.

Sincerely,

Brent B. Harrington

Dear Families,

As the summer begins, I have been busy adjusting to my new role as principal.  I look forward to the opportunity to meet your child at the kindergarten orientation on Wednesday, August 31st.  As you anticipate your child?s entrance into kindergarten it is likely you will experience a myriad of emotions, including excitement, anxiety, and nostalgia.  As we begin this journey together, please know that the professional staff at Haldane is committed to ensuring that every child receives an exemplary education in a nurturing and supportive environment.  Simply, we all work together to ensure every child?s academic and social-emotional needs are met.   Cont.

Dear Families,

As the school year is now underway, many of you with children in grades 3-8 have received your child's state assessment results.  It is likely that you may have questions regarding how your child's performance compared with other Haldane students as well as students in neighboring districts.  Comparison reports show average scale scores of math and ELA at each grade level similar to neighboring districts.  In many instances, Haldane's scores exceded neighboring districts with similar demographics.  Please click on the link here to see a breakdown of Haldane student performance in math and ELA at each grade level.

As we continue to ensure that each individual student's academic and emotional needs are met, the elementary school has been engaged in rich conversations and work around state mandates on Response to Intervention (RTI).  RTI is a process that uses systemic, research-based instruction to target the needs of struggling learners.  In essence, embracing differentiated instruction to meet the needs of individual learning styles is at the core of the RTI process.  Our talented and enthusiastic elementary staff has been working in collaboration at each grade level to identify strategies to target different learning styles.

As a former 8th grade teacher, middle school has long had a special place in my heart as an educator.  Not uncommon in middle schools is the challenge of finding an appropriate balance between providing a safe and nurturing environment, while building expectations of increased student responsibility and ownership over learning.  The importance of building 21st century skills, while placing a value on students' opportunity to embrace academic rigor and ensure curricular equity can be often be a challenging task for middle schools.

Presently, our professional staff has been engaged in conversations around acceleration with the expectation of clearly defining a criteria that is articulated to the community while establishing a structure that affords some flexibility in determining accelerated opportunities for students.  You may see a flowchart of the math and science curriculum by clicking here.  Please note that Integrated Algebra and Biology are Regents level courses offerred in 8th grade.  While much of this may remain unclear, it is my goal to offer an evening in the winter to explain each subject's sequence and more clearly articulate the purpose and criteria of the accelerated courses.

As you know, our students greatly benefit from the work of many of our support providers.  Ms. Storey, our guidance counselor, and Mr. Many, our social worker, will be facilitating a social skills group for our middle school students.  Planning for the first group is underway and will meet during one lunch period per week for approximately 8 weeks.  Interested students should return the attached form by clicking here.

Finally, I again want to express my excitement for this school year.  Everything that I was led to believe prior to my arrival in Cold Spring has proven to be true.  This is, undoubtedly, a terrific place where the sense of community is evidenced by the professionalism of the staff, the interest of the parents and the smiles of the children.

Best Regards,

Brent Harrington
Haldane ES/MS Principal

On Tuesday, September 20th Clifford visited each kindergarten classroom and participated in a read aloud about himself led by Principal Brent Harrington.  The students enjoyed the opportunity to greet Clifford and share their affection for the many stories that have been shared in class about their favorite large red dog.  Strangely, our Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Mark Villanti, also a huge fan of Clifford, went mysteriously missing during Clifford's 45 minute visit to the elementary school!

On Thursday, September 22nd, Mrs. Hartford's 4th grade class visited Glynwood farm to experience first-hand where their food comes from. This was a special event to kick-off the Chef in the Classroom program for the new school year.

As the students got off the bus, they were greeted by farm educator, Carolyn Llewellyn. She led them into the demonstration garden and pointed out all the different vegetables and herbs that were growing and ready to harvest. With wicker baskets in hand, the students picked cherry tomatoes, chives, purple basil, rosemary and cabbage.

Next, they went into the CSA garden and picked kale and sungold tomatoes. After that, they had the rare opportunity to visit a mobile henhouse where each student was allowed to pick their very own egg.

Unlike a traditional henhouse, a mobile henhouse sits on wheels in an open field. The chickens spend most of their time outdoors – free to roam in a large fenced in area. Every few weeks the henhouse is moved to a different field. This process benefits both the chickens and the fields. The chickens benefit from a diet rich in vegetation and insects. And the fields are fertilized with their manure.

Right-click here to download pictures. To help protect your privacy, Outlook prevented automatic download of this picture from the Internet. After the students collected all their ingredients, they headed up to the big red barn where Mark and Sunny Gandara had already set up their mobile kitchen. The kids sat on haystacks and helped prepare frittatas made with all the ingredients they had just picked. Everyone got a chance to crack an egg, stir in some herbs or sprinkle on a little cheese. And in under an hour, the kids were devouring their frittatas and begging for more!

Did they like it?? After every Chef in the Classroom program, the students are asked to name their dish. This is what they came up with:

Fabulous, Amazing, Delicious, Scrumptious, Fantastic, Wonderful Frittata!

The cafeteria will be serving this dish next Thursday, October 6th. Mark your calendars. Your kids won't want to miss this one.

As the beautful autumn foliage in Cold Spring is upon us, our students and staff have settled into the routines of the school year.  As I visit classrooms, I continue to be impressed with the level of learning that I regularly observe.

On Friday, October 14th, the Haldane community celebrated the service of former principal Mrs. Maggie Davis by renaming the playground in her honor.  Board of Education Trustee, Michael Junjulas, unveiled the plaque at the ceremony, which was held after dismissal.  Board President, Joe Curto, provided some opening remarks, recognizing the lasting impact that Mrs. Davis's leadership has had on the community, while Vice President Gillian Thorpe, shared the official proclamation adopted by the Board last spring.  In addition, Assistant Principal, Julia Sniffen, shared the history of Mrs. Davis's leadership in rebuilding the playground.  Mrs. Davis's husband, James, and parents, Maggie and James, were in attendance, as was many parents, students and elementary staff.

Our work in continuing to build upon a culture of professional dialogue around teaching and learning is clearly apparent in the collaboration and conversations amongst grade level teams.  In the elementary school, grade level teams continue to meet weekly to discuss curriculum and pedagogy.  Recent middle school conversations have focused on Response to Intervention (RTI).  As you are already aware, RTI is a process that uses systemic, research-based instruction to target the needs of struggling learners.  In essence, embracing differentiated instruction to meet the needs of individual learning styles is at the core of the RTI process.  In addition, the middle school continues to have conversations around a clearly identified criteria for acceleration.  As I mentioned in my last communication, I look forward to hosting an evening in January where I will share anticipated changes and clearly articulate the purpose and criteria of the accelerated courses.

There are several events and announcements that are important in the approaching weeks.  First, the week of October 24th will serve as Red Ribbon week in the elementary and middle schools.  The focus of this week is to remind students of pro-social behavior and healthy decision-making.  In regards to the expecation of high moral character of our students, I would ask parents to remind their children of appropriate bus behavior while traveling to and from school.  Second, the Haldane School Foundation will be hosting its annual Harvest Moon fundraiser on Saturday, October 29th.  I look forward to the opportunity to meet some of you at this terrific event that helps support the rich curricular experience that our students enjoy.  Third, the National PTA sponsors a "Reflections" competition each year to showcase the artistry of middle and high school students interested in the arts.  This year, the Haldane Fine Arts Committee, is helping the PTA support the program.  This year's theme is "Diversity is ..."  Submissions are due by November 18th.  If you have any questions, please email Seamus Carroll at SEDCarrol@aol.com

Finally, I feel it necessary to speaking candidly in regards to Halloween celebrations in school.  While I was admittedly suprised to learn that students have not been permitted to dress up for any Halloween celebrations in the elementary school, I do feel that it is important to continue with this expectation for this year.  I know the community can recognize and understand the cultural nuances that are presented to a new principal and the sensitivity with managing change.  While I expect that in the future there may well be a shift in thinking, I will kindly ask that parents respect the expectation that has existed and ensure that their child comes to school in normal school clothing.

In closing, I look forward to our days together and the exciting work that lies before us.

With Warm Regards,

Brent B. Harrington
Haldane ES/MS Principal

On Friday, November 4th eighth grade students travelled to Putnam/Northern Westchester BOCES in Yorktown for a half-day program involving speakers, student presentations and career information related to law, social work, occupational therapy, fashion design, auto mechanics, forestry and culinary arts.  Students participated in a tour of the Tech Center that included a visit through the facility and opportunity to speak with instructors.

Upon students return to school, two community members, Ms. Debbi Milner, director of sales and marketing at Betonas, and Mr. John Cronin, director of the Beacon Institute for Rivers and Estuaries and former Riverkeeper, volunteered their time and expertise.  Ms. Milner discussed the importance of presentation and appearance in the workplace and the necessity of working cooperatively with colleagues. Mr. Cronin discussed the importance of our environment and how our choices directly impact the quality of our natural resources.  A special thanks to middle school guidance counselor, Ms. Carol Storey, for organizing this wonderful opportunity for our 8th grade students.

It's hard to believe the Thanksgiving break is right around the corner.  As we look forward to the welcomed opportunity to take a break from our school routines, spend quality time with family and friends and reflect on the personal blessings in our lives, I am again reminded of what a privilege it is to work with students, staff and parents at Haldane.

You may remember that in my September newsletter I shared results of last year's state assessments in math and ELA.  If you had the opportunity to review our results, I am sure you shared my satisfaction with our students' performance in math.  A significant number of our students in grades 3 through 8 demonstrated mastery on the math assessment, while only a few did not meet proficiency.  This is certainly a testament to the quality instruction that is delivered by a talented staff of teachers.  Additionally, our math curriculum is surely another important variable in our students' success.

With that said, I do recognize that our Everyday Math curriculum presents challenges, and even frustrations, for many parents at home who are understandably not educated about the program.  As a result, I have scheduled a parent information evening to provide an overview of the math curriculum to the community for Wednesday, December 14th at 6:30 in the music room.  Please note that this evening is meant to provide an overview, including the philosophy, pedagogy, structure and routines that define the program.  Tom Virgadamo, our elementary math coordinator, Julia Sniffen, our assistant principal, and I will be presenting.  If you are planning on attending, please complete the RSVP form by clicking here and return it to the main office before Friday, December 9th.  You may also email me the form directly at bharrington@haldaneschool.org.

A similar evening for middle school parents is being planned to share the accelerated middle school program in math and science with a tentative date scheduled for Thursday, January 19th at 6:30.  This evening will provide an opportunity to clearly articulate the criteria for acceleration as well as communicate anticipated changes.  Having met with a number of parents in the community regarding this issue, it is quite clear there are number of misconceptions around students' placement in these courses.  It is my hope to provide a clearly articulated department sequence to illustrate students access to courses and curriculum in the high school for accelerated and non-accelerated middle school students in math and science.

Finally, I want to remind parents of the PTA fundraiser on Friday, November 18th at the Barnes & Noble in Poughkeepsie.  This event is sure to be an entertaining and enjoyable evening.  I have also been directed to wear my pajamas!  Please note that the middle school quarter ends this Thursday, November 10th, while elementary report cards will be sent home on Wednesday, November 30th.

Please enjoy a restful and healthy Thanksgiving.  The support and kind words that have been shared with me by many of you in the community has certainly given me reason to pause, reflect and recognize the special community that I have joined.

      Warm Regards,

      Brent B. Harrington

Recently, our 7th grade Life Science students in Mrs. Horn's class have taken part in an educational research study along with 40 other schools in New York State. The Education Development Center’s, Center for Children and Technology (EDC/CCT), is conducting the study with funding from the U.S. Department of Education. The goal of the study is to evaluate whether a Nintendo DS video game and related classroom activities about photosynthesis will benefit students' understanding of photosynthesis. Each student was provided with a DS to take home for three days; the students were asked to play the video game for a minimum of 1 hour over the course of the 3 days. In class, Mrs. Horn provided connections between the game, other activities and regular instruction. At the end of the study the students will take an assessment to determine if they have a better understanding of photosynthesis than students from schools in the control group who did not receive DS’s.  To learn more about this national study you can review a recent article published in Edweek by clicking on the link below.

It's hard to believe that the holiday season is upon us.  The elementary school concert was held on Tuesday, December 13th and as expected was an incredible success.  Special thanks to Ms. Susan Kelly and Ms. Deb Contini for preparing our students for such wonderful performances.

The following evening, Mr. Tom Virgadamo, Mrs. Julia Sniffen and myself welcomed approximately 70 parents for an informational evening on our Everyday Math program.  The evening provided the opportunity to present the philosophy and curriculum overview of Everyday Math to our community.  Additionally, I highlighted the impressive results on the New York State math assessment that our students in grades 3 through 7 have enjoyed.  Our percentage of students on grade level is well above the New York State average of 61%.  Following the presentation, parents had the choice of participating in either a 1st or 4th grade lesson with either Mrs. Sniffen or Mr. Virgadamo.  For those parents who were not able to attend this event you may access the presentation by clicking here.

Our middle school concert is rapidly approaching and will be held on Monday, December 19th at 7:00pm.  Additionally, the Fine Arts Committee is sponsoring a benefit concert on Saturday, December 17th to raise money for our arts program.  Headlining this concert is Dar Williams and the band Gandalf Murphy.

An evening for middle school parents is being planned to share the accelerated middle school program in math and science with a date scheduled for Thursday, January 19th at 6:30.  This evening will provide an opportunity to clearly articulate the criteria for acceleration as well as communicate changes.

Finally, I want to wish everyone a healthy, happy and joyful holiday season.  It's been a pleasure getting to know many of you and engaging in rich and respectful conversations around education.  As I have shared in my many personal conversations, as well as previous newsletters, it is privilege to be leading this school community, and I look forward to the wonderful and rewarding work that lies before us.

      With Warmest Regards,

      Brent B. Harrington

The Haldane Elementary and Middle School libraries are excited to announce the creation of a new book borrowing location in the old payphone booth outside the nurse’s office. This booth will be a self-sustaining lending library that K-8 students can visit throughout the course of the school day.  Students may help themselves to books or leave donations for other readers to enjoy.
To get our book booth started, we are accepting donations of new or very gently used, current books for children in elementary and middle school. Donations will be accepted at both libraries, as well as in the donation bin inside the book booth. Please note that some donations will also be used to supplement both libraries’ circulating collections.
Books used exclusively in the book booth will be clearly labeled with ***red stickers on their spine***. These books will not follow the same rules as those checked out from our school libraries; they can be kept and enjoyed for as long as the student pleases. To ensure the continual circulation of books in the booth, we ask that students who are frequently borrowing also make periodic donations. Thank you so much for your support in making this initiative a success!
Should you have any questions, please feel free to email Juli Burok-Hoffman @ jburok@haldaneschool.org or Josiah Peparo @ jpeparo@haldaneschool.org

The start of the new year seems an appropriate time to again share my vision for Haldane ES/MS School. Continuing to build an appropriately rigorous curriculum that seeks to meet the needs of each individual learner, while ensuring a safe and nurturing learning environment is at the core of every decision that has an impact on student learning. Simply, promoting excellence while providing curricular equity should be a universal value for everyone in our community--students, staff and parents.

In part, these values were again communicated at our recent middle school evening on acceleration.  While for some, anticipated changes were met with skepticism; I recognize that managing complex change does not come without some expressions of doubt.  Nonetheless, I will hold steadfast to my commitment in ensuring every student has access to a rigorous and developmentally appropriate curriculum. The challenges of middle school are complex, and I am privileged to lead Haldane Middle School toward greater excellence.  My values and philosophy were clearly articulated to the diverse committee that I had the privilege of interviewing with last spring.  Additionally, I have repeatedly communicated my commitment to these values since my tenure began on July 1st.  You may recall the words that I shared at Curriculum Night in October that I quote verbatim below:

"As a former 8th grade teacher, middle school has long had a special place in my heart as an educator.  This is undoubtedly a challenging time in a student’s life.  The intellectual, physical and emotional maturity that occurs during this three year period can often feel like a tumultuous time—both for the student and the parent.  The balance between providing a safe and nurturing environment, while building expectations of increased student responsibility and ownership over learning is a challenging task.  As a result, we need to recognize that the importance of building 21st century skills, while placing a value on students’ opportunity to embrace academic rigor and ensure curricular equity. This is often a challenge for middle schools and is not something unique to Haldane.  With that said, I look forward to the conversations with staff and parents as we continue to shape our identity as a middle school and begin to clearly articulate our values."

In closing, I look forward to the second half of the school year and remind parents that my door is always open. My presentation on acceleration can be found by clicking here.  I would remind the community that I fully recognize the challenging and rewarding work that lies before us, but the opportunity to have civil, respectful and healthy conversations around teaching and learning has been a refreshing reminder of the special community that I am privileged to lead.

In an effort to increase and update our collection of children's picture books, the elementary library was recently able to purchase 101 titles with a grant from the Haldane School Foundation.  Mr. Peparo purchased Caldecott and Newberry medal winners and honorable mentions from 2000 to the present.  Additionally, targeted efforts were made to include popular children's series to our collection--most notably Mo Willems' Piggie and Gerald and Jane O'Connor's Fancy Nancy.  We look forward to students, teachers and parents taking advantage of these enjoyable collections of children literature and wish to thank the Haldane School Foundation for their support in helping to update our collection.

Please remind your child that cell phones and other electronic devices need to remain in a student's backpack and/or locker during the school day.  Cell phones should not be present during instructional time. Those students not following the policy will have their cell phones taken and delivered to the main office.

I have been told that I have not quite experienced Haldane until I survive a true winter in Cold Spring, and while this may be true, I have admittedly enjoyed the temperate weather for the winter months and the opportunity to have our students consistently outside for recess during the months of January and February.  Nonetheless, it is a bit strange to see the daffodils begining to push up from the ground in early February!  Weather aside, it is exciting to reflect on the first half of the year while our staff prepares for the excellent work that awaits us in the spring months.

Our elementary and middle school staff recently completed training on our new reading and math screening (called AIMSweb) that better aligns our work to Response to Intervention (RTI) mandates.  As a result, this new screening will allow our teachers to better assess areas of difficulty to allow for targeted instruction and individualized student goals.  While this tool will allow teachers to assess specific math and reading areas that may present difficulty for a particular student, it will also allow teachers to recognize those students who are well above grade level and help to provide differentiated coursework to ensure appropriately rigorous expectations.  This universal screening tool will be fully implemented K-8 by the end of the school year and help to drive instructional decisions in the classroom in the future.

Aside from the many curricular initiatives and professional development that our staff has enthusiatically embraced, I would be remiss in neglecting to mention the many rich experiences that our students enjoy at Haldane.  Most recently, our 1st and 2nd graders performed a spectacular choral concert for our parents prior to the February break.  Each grade infused a well-rehearsed script focused on a clear theme with accompanying songs.  Every student had a short speaking role, and I was so impressed with our students' ability to clearly and confidently speak in front of an auditorium of parents.  A special thanks to our 1st and 2nd grade teachers, as well as our music teacher, Ms. Susan Kelly, for preparing our students for this wonderful event.

I am pleased to share that our 7th and 8th grade students will have the opportunity to hear a presentation from Ms. Marion Blumenthal Lazan, a survivor of Bergen-Belsen, on March 7th.  In preparation for this event, our 8th graders have been provided with Ms. Lazan's memoir, Four Perfect Pebbles.  Our social studies and English teachers, Ms. Annesi, Ms. Pearce, Ms. Brocker and Ms. Kane, have prepared several lessons to ensure that our students enter this experience with an understanding of the history of anti-Semitism in Europe prior to Hitler's rise to power, as well as an overview of the critical events during the Holocaust.  As a result, I expect that our students will leave this experience with an understanding of the role bystanders play in creating the cultural context for genocide.  I have no doubt that our students will appreciate this experience and leave better people as a result of hearing Ms. Lazan's story.  A special thanks to Ms. Kelli Annesi for reaching out to Ms. Lazan and bringing her here to Haldane.

In closing, the spring months are rapidly approaching, and I look forward to the wonderful work that lies before us.  Recently, I had an opportunity to attend a presentation by an individual who is considered an innovator and leading educational reformer.  There were many wise words that he shared, but perhaps what I found to be the most useful was the obvious reminder that he offered at the end.  "Be willing to be transformed.  We have so much left to learn."  The simplicity of this statement serves as a reminder that education requires the consistent committment to learning from us all--students, staff and parents.

Mr. Dudar’s third grade and Mrs. LeMon’s and Mrs. Hartford’s fourth grade classes have been working collaboratively to bring awareness to both the school and community about sustainability. The classes have been working together since October composting twice a week involving the entire school, researching new and innovative ways to help solve problems, and reaching out to the community to have their voices heard. In addition, the students (in teams of three) wrote a letter to each business in Cold Spring to spread their message. The biggest response received was actually a reaction from Cold Spring Mayor Seth Gallagher who decided to read the letter at a Village Board Meeting where the local media became aware of it and subsequently wrote this article,

http://www.philipstown.info/?p=22497. The classes sat down with Mayor Gallagher this past week to discuss new ways that the students can be more of a presence in the community. On May 1st, the students will have the opportunity to voice their ideas to the public at the Village Board Meeting, just before our Earth Day Fair on May 4th!

The High School Chef/Leadership Day is an annual event held at the Taconic Outdoor Education Center.  Students from Mrs. Pidala’s HS elective course, Food and Nutrition, work alongside professional chefs to prepare a gourmet lunch. This year’s menu was a Super Bowl Entertainment Menu consisting of Nachos with cheese, homemade pizza, wings with hot sauce, quesadillas with cheese & meat, and chili with rice - YUM!!!

At the same time, members of the student council along with class officers from grades 9-12 have group discussions and break-out groups to discuss problems and issues that are relevant to them.  This year the topic was “Destructive Decisions.”  Students went beyond the drinking and drug use issues and touched on peer pressure and the influence of older students on the younger students.  Students bring the information back to their classmates and work on how to implement changes at Haldane.

On Thursday night, Board President Joe Curto and Superintendent Mark Villanti discussed the tax cap with the Haldane PTA.
