Late tomato blight! Having just bought and planted too many heirloom tomato seedlings from Jay Armour/Four Winds Farm at the Farmers' Market, I'm worried about keeping them safe. Last year was a wipe out and this year we've planted them again on the same plot up at Libby Healy's community garden. Is this wise? Probably not, but we didn't have another option. Dutchess Dirt, the Cornell Dutchess County newsletter said the spores wouldn't live thru the winter and unless there were infected potatoes planted, or new infected tomatoes, we'd be all right. They also recommended using copper sulfate as a fungicide.
That's another query! How much, how often, dust or liquid spray, or Bordeau mixture (mixed with lime, why?)? Googling just gets more confusing! What are the rest of you doing?
