Postby Robotic Autoposter » Tue Feb 08, 2011 4:47 pm

Dear Friend of the Art Center,

Our backyard is breathtaking in the winter, but we are looking forward to the early
spring predicted by the Ground Hog and want to make sure that our 2011 Family

event celebrating the Himalayan New Year with a day of art, crafts, music, collaborative
projects and so much more. Details are available at the Rubin Museum website.

As a Family Member of Garrison Art Center you will be receiving your 4 passes to the Rubin

2 exceptional shows opening Friday February 11

Postby Robotic Autoposter » Fri Feb 04, 2011 4:31 pm

Dear Friend of the Art Center,

We started 2011 with 2 beautifully provocative shows by artists Carlos Uribe and June Glasson.  They will close this Sunday, February 6 at 5pm.  Both are worth a visit.

And not to miss a beat, we will open 2 exhibitions next Friday by photographer Lorin Duckman and painter Sanders Watson.  Lorin's work was selected as "Best in Show" at the Art Center's 2010 juried photography competition PHOTOcentric. You won't want to miss Lorin's sensitive portraits of fellow Americans.
Sanders Watson's representational paintings of homes are impressive large pieces exquisitely rendered.  The architectural detail leaves no stone unturned: it is the absence of life that is bewildering.

Please join us for an opening reception on Friday, February 11 from 6 to 8.  Cathryn's Tuscan Grill on Main Street in Cold Spring, will provide delicious pre-dinner fare and offer a 10% discount coupon to our exhibition guests.  D. Yannitelli Wines & Spirits also in Cold Spring will provide wine, as always.

The exhibitions will run through March 6, galleries open Tuesday thru Sunday, 10am to 5pm.
If the weather is questionable please call first 845.424.3960.

Kids are $20 each, and only $15 each for siblings.

But please, if you need financial assistance, give us a call.

Dear Friend of the Art Center,

We are starting off 2011 with a bang -- two exciting exhibitions feature printmaker Carlos Uribe and his exploration of the American flag and June Glasson's re-creation of mid-19th-century female criminality. Find out more about these two evocative artists below. (To read a review of Glasson's work in Guernica, a magazine of art and politics, click here.)

The public is invited to a reception for the artists Friday, January 14 from 6 to 8pm.  The shows run through February 6 -- galleries open Tuesday through Sunday 10am to 5pm.
